Howling Mountains

The word “howling” in Howling Mountains does not refer to a murky landscape. Once, this region was a meeting place of lower demons. The Barrow especially was a venue for the wild hordes.

On certain nights, the demons performed bizarre sacrificial rituals in the Barrow’s monumental stone formation. The screams from the sacrifices echoed throughout the region, and the area was later called the Howling Mountains. Some years ago, the Council of Varanas and the Eye of Wisdom cleansed the Howling Mountains with great armies of men and mages.

When the first humans settled there, the howling had silenced. Since then, travelers and adventures see the Howling Mountains as an open and unthreatening pasture. Nonetheless, the surrounding mountains and spiky stone formations can instill a slight feeling of eeriness.

Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley got its name from its hidden location. In all four directions, towering mountains surround this deep-set region, which is why Hidden Valley was discovered only after the adventure guild Silvershadow began looking for the sources of different bodies of water.

In addition to a spring, Silvershadow detected traces of ore. To mine the ore, the Council of Varanas founded Pioneers Colony.

Pioneers Colony

The Council of Varanas built this mining base nestled in the tranquil backdrop of the Howling Mountains. With its clear lake, picturesque waterfall, proud forests and newly discovered veins of ore, Pioneers Colony is rich in both beauty and raw materials.

A small mine to the west of the village is the newest excavation area in the region. When mushroom beings suddenly appeared in great numbers, Silvershadow sent out many young adventurers to deal with them and help with the mining so the region might prosper.
