Epoch of Chaos

Some of the stronger nations subdued the smaller and weaker ones and enslaved their inhabitants. The predominance of those stronger nations was only because the leaders had transformed their bodies using the power of the runes. They saw themselves as a new race destined to rule the world. Others saw them as “demons.”

As soon as the demons started detaching themselves from mankind and looking down on their brethren, the people’s hearts filled with hate, and they found the will to topple the demons. But other Taboreans carried deep scars from The War of Balanzasar, and they had lost all faith in mankind or were so fearful of the demons that they didn’t want to get involved. Thus, the Epoch of Chaos was dominated by demons.

But there was discord and distrust among the demons, and another war began — this time amongst the demons. There were no dragons or elements to stop them. The absolute terror they caused eventually brought forward the alliance, which encompassed all peoples and nations of Taborea, and a plan was put into motion.

The Great Banishment

The alliance of Taboreans created a sphere, known as the “World of the Void,” and positioned interdimensional portals in the demons’ dominions that would lead to this World of the Void.

A war, known as The Great Banishment, followed. The alliance escalated it on purpose and lured the bloodthirsty demons to the portals. Endless lives were sacrificed to banish the demons one after another into the World of the Void. When the last demon was banished, all portals were sealed.

The method to seal the portals is no longer known, but it was successful at the time. A few demons were left behind, but they had lost all their power and were hunted by the humans. Demons that were not caught escaped into the shadow.

The price of victory for the alliance was immense. Only one-tenth of Taboreans survived, and numerous cultural icons were banished along with the demons.
