A world of helpful things

Besides solid training, adventurers need solid equipment. Adequate clothes and good weapons will help you prepare for the dangers of Taborea. And different classes have different requirements and possibilities.

Warriors and knights equip themselves with heavy armor and heavy weapons, two-handed swords or axes. Scouts and rogues prefer flexible armor or light robes and long-range weapons, throwing weapons or close-combat weapons. Mages and priests trust in the powers of their minds and use staffs and wands. They take great pride in appearance and are well-groomed.

Armor and weapons are not the only important equipment in Runes of Magic. Potions, resources for various crafting skills and diverse fighting goods fill backpacks and are equally important. Some items are important for quests, some are exhausted after a single use and some benefit you only for certain amounts of time.

Clothes and armor

There are many types of clothes and equipment. In the cloakroom, you can find lined jackets, light stuffed shoes, leather armor, hoods, silk robes, armor gloves, feathered hunting hats, belts and much more. You can equip yourself with countless different types of armor from four categories: cloth, leather, chain ring and metal ring. There’s something for everyone.

And when it comes to armor, it’s not all about fashion. Although heavy plate armor offers protection against physical attacks, lighter robes offer protection against magical attacks. In Runes of Magic, players can customize the color of their garb to their taste. Everyone has the chance to look good and gain bonuses.

Weapons

The shelves of the arms dealers are well-stocked and include everything from simple clubs to handy daggers and elegant long swords made of glimmering steel to massive two-handed war axes. There also is a large selection of close-combat weapons. The smaller and lighter the weapon is, the faster it is to control. Two-handed weapons are slower but are able to deal more damage. Long-range weapons such as bows and crossbows are the weapon of choice for scouts while rogues use throwing weapons. However, both classes must remember to carry a sufficient supply of projectiles. Not all classes can use all equipment — especially mages and priests, who don’t have the constitution to wear heavy metal gear.
