Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy is coming

  • 06-04-2009

We are proud to reveal the next stage in Runes of Magic —  Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy. Release is planned for September 2009, and Chapter II will be completely FREE! During the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we offered a sneak peak of new content, such as the new region “Weeping Coast.” With this new region, the level cap will increase to level 52 (and then raise to level 55 in September).

As the name suggests, one of the main elements of “Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy” will be the introduction of the elves as a playable race. There also will be a huge new background story, new regions and many new quests.

According to legend, demons of human origin — having degenerated into beings of the underworld from the influence of the runes — forged an alliance with the nagas in ancient times. Together, these evil forces brought war and devastation to the world of Taborea. An alliance of elves and humans succeeded in banishing the demons into the void and driving back the nagas behind a magical wall. However, when elven prince Sig’aylas removed the holy sword Arclight from the wall to defend his human love, the wall perished and the naga threat returned.

You probably know that there are two new character classes coming with Chapter II, but here is more information: These two classes will be a perfect addition to the already huge possibilities of the dual class system.
If you are not interested in testing out a new class or race, you don’t have to worry. New challenges await all experienced players in form of challenging dungeons, raid instances and new PvP modes. Due to the new content, the level cap with “Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy” will increase for all characters to level 55!

Another new feature will be the combat pet system. You’ll be able to actively train your virtual companions so that they can help you in future battles.

So many new features are coming! But that's not all! The game's ambiance will also be enhanced. The new regions and the old territories will benefit from an improved graphic engine. Sound and music will also improve courtesy the talents of the renowned sound studio Dynamedion.
