In September, "Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy" will lead players into new game regions characterized by elvish lore, such as an elven island at the shore of Ravenfell.
Elves have lived in secret for ages are surrounded by an aura of mystery. They are considered to be one of Taborea’s oldest peoples. Because of their particular affinity with nature, the elves are mostly found in the remote and undisturbed areas of Taborea’s large forests. Elves are characterized by an extraordinary intelligence and dexterity. Their metalworking skills are on par with those of the dwarves, whereas their style is much more ornamental.
The design of elvish weapons is elegant, bordering on frail. But in the hands of an elvish fighter, the weapons are impressively effective. A decisive influence on the effects of the elvish weapons derives from their owner’s purity and link with nature. Because of their aesthetic value, the renowned elvish long swords and longbows also are attractive to humans. But only the elves possess the mental skills necessary to handle such elegant weapons.
Yore, the elvish kingdom, has been located in Aslan Valley. Therefore, the valley is also known as “The Origin.” The elven kingdom was shattered in the time of the primeval war against the demons. After an oracle prophecy, a sect of the elven people under Prince Isnasil abandoned the area to keep clear of the conflict.
A second faction under King Antaikolon affronted the combat. To avoid such confrontations in the future, the elven king had a magical wall erected in the aftermath to hold back the evil Naga people allying with the demons. By inserting the holy elven sword Arclight into the wall, the king rendered it insurmountable.
Since that time, the descendants of the elven fighters that supported Antaikolon served as guardians and paladins of Arclight, devoting themselves to the improvement of their martial arts. Hundreds of years later, when elven prince Sig’aylas removed Arclight from the wall to defend his human true love, the wall fell, and the Naga threat flourished once more.
With the upcoming “Chapter II: The Elven Prophecy” for Runes of Magic, the elves will enter the world of Taborea.
